The dream of van life often involves finding that perfect, secluded spot to park up and spend the night. But for many, the reality of navigating legalities and avoiding crowded car parks & laybys can feel impossible. While off-roading in a capable 4×4 is a fantastic way to access remote places, we know that many adventurers want to explore in a standard van, campervan, or even a car.

At Off Grid Camp, we believe a truly wild and secluded experience shouldn’t be limited to only the most rugged vehicles. That’s why we’ve built a network of unique locations with a clear vehicle rating system.

Understanding Our Vehicle Ratings

  • Level 1: Any Vehicle: Easily accessible from a public road, these spots are perfect for standard cars, campervans, and vans of all sizes.
  • Level 2: Off-road capable: Suitable for vehicles with higher ground clearance, and potentially all-wheel drive. Access may involve some uneven terrain or slightly rougher tracks.
  • Level 3: Experienced off-road drivers only: These locations are designed for highly capable 4×4 vehicles and experienced drivers who are comfortable tackling steep, rutted terrain or river crossings.

With over 80 of our locations now rated Level 1, there’s a massive choice of secluded spots for you to discover. Here are just a few examples of the incredible “any vehicle” spots you can find in our network.
